Now listen, baby…

I don’t care what decade it is, what laws have been passed, or how many hashtags we done seen — hate still finds a way to creep in.
It don’t always wear a hood or wave a flag.
Sometimes it’s a cold look across the room…
A whisper behind a handshake…
A policy dressed up in professionalism but dripping with prejudice.

Bigotry is a spirit that don’t tire easy.
It don’t care who you are — Black, Brown, Asian, Indigenous, LGBTQ+, poor, disabled, or just different.
It’ll try to dim your light before you even get a chance to shine.

And baby, it’s heavy.
It wears you down in your bones if you let it.
Makes you bitter. Makes you tired. Makes you wanna fight fire with fire.

But hear Mama good:

Mindset Medicine

The bravest thing you can do in this broken world…
is still choose to love.

That don’t mean you let folks walk over you.
That don’t mean you stay silent in the face of wrong.
But it does mean that you refuse to let hate make a home in your heart.

Because once it takes root, baby, it don’t just poison your enemies.
It poisons you.

 Mama’s Challenge: Be the Light Anyway

This week, I want you to act like love is the answer — even when it ain’t the easy one.

Speak up when someone makes a hateful joke — not with anger, but with truth.
Support somebody who’s different from you.
Learn a new story from a culture you don’t understand.
Show kindness where none was expected.
Pray for those who live with hate in their hearts — not because they deserve it, but because you deserve peace.

This world don’t need more fire. It needs more healing.
And healing don’t start in a courtroom or a protest line — it starts right where you are.

At the dinner table.
In the office.
In the way you talk to your neighbor.
In the way you raise your babies.

So keep your head high, your heart open, and your spirit rooted in truth.
