Mama Keys
Opening Reflection
“My babies, listen close… age is not a stop sign. It’s a green light with wisdom attached. I hear too many folks say, ‘I’m too old to start a business, too old to learn technology, too old to write my story.’ Let me tell you something — that’s a lie fear whispers when it sees you standing on the edge of possibility.”
“When I turned 60, I truly thought the world had passed me by. I watched younger folks starting businesses online, running podcasts, blogging every day, and I said to myself, ‘Child, that ship has sailed for you.’
One day I was sitting at my kitchen table, sipping tea, staring at a blank notebook. Something in me said, ‘Write.’ I almost laughed out loud. I said, ‘Write what? Who wants to hear from a woman my age?’ But my spirit wouldn’t let me off the hook. So I picked up my pen, and I started writing down little stories from my life — about growing up, about love and heartbreak, about raising children and finding my own strength.
At first, it felt small — just me and my notebook. But then I began sharing my words. And baby, let me tell you… people leaned in. Folks young and old came to me saying, ‘Mama, your words sound like what I needed today. You said what I couldn’t say for myself.’
That notebook turned into journals. Those journals turned into speeches. And those speeches opened doors I never thought I’d walk through — from community stages to online platforms where thousands listened.
What I thought was ‘too late’ became right on time. Starting over didn’t make me less — it made me more. Because when you start later in life, you don’t come empty-handed. You come carrying wisdom, scars, laughter, and lessons that can’t be Googled or copied.
So hear me when I say this: your age is not your limitation — it’s your testimony. And somebody out there is waiting for the exact story, blog, business, or vision that only you can give.”
Mama’s Keys:
🔑 Your age is your advantage. You’ve lived, you’ve seen, you’ve endured — that makes your voice richer.
🔑 Your story matters. The blog you start today may be the words that save someone tomorrow.
🔑 Your business can bless. Every product, every service, every idea you birth has the power to touch lives.
🔑 The right time is when you decide. Tomorrow is not promised. Today is the gift.
